True. Thats why everyone is gearing up with dashcams these days. Solid proof is a minimum for the police to entertain your case these days.

Get a dashcam that’s hooked up to ur battery so it records when the car is off as well.

Also mate, let it go. Take the scratch as a lesson and move on. I’ve been down the same road and nobody will chase this fellow down. It’s not worth the trouble. Karma will get him one day.

Critical thinking is a skill one can possess. But asking OPs family (probably having parents or grandparents with him), to let go of their foundational beliefs in magic or superstition is not feasible.

It will cause mental anguish at the least.
