So they must have decided to talk first. If I had denied cooperation then they might have walked down on the warrant path.

Just told me that if needed someday I might have to visit the station otherwise I am fine.
UFor most cases this is sound advice but In my case I might just do as the guy advices because in villages local residents often know police officers personally.One of my relatives knows the officer is legit. So definitely not a scam.
Also i am certain for this particular case I have played no role in it based on given facts.

Somehow got his hands on my wifi password and used it when he was in vicinity.
Police showed me my complete information.
