UI once experienced this with zomato complained on the national consumer and this was the response I received
“ISSUE: The customer raised a complaint regarding a billing issue for orders 6359239850 and 6351590835. RESOLUTION: We would like to inform you that, effective from January 1, 2022, Zomato is required to issue tax invoices on behalf of restaurants for items listed under “Services” on the menu. In your restaurant bill, taxes were not included, which made it necessary for us to charge 5% tax on the item value and 5% tax on the packaging charges. Additionally, Zomato provides two types of discounts: Zomato-only discounts, where no tax is applied. Restaurant discounts, for which tax is applicable. In both orders, you used a discount of INR 80, of which INR 64 was from the restaurant side, and for that portion, tax was applied.
