February 18, 2025 at 3:18 pmSo dear @CapitalistSloth, just for my understanding you’re saying this product sony sold me, its life time is just 3 years? Once the product go out of warranty which is just three years since I bought it , Sony has nothing to do with it? I hope it’s not gambling.February 18, 2025 at 11:30 am in reply to: Sony India is Forcing Me to Pay ā¹79,167 for a Defective ā¹1.62L OLED TV Instead of Offering a Free Replacement ā Consumer Rights Violated! #51827UUser_b810f4eb

February 18, 2025 at 11:30 amIāve already posted about this on LinkedIn and Twitter to raise awareness. This fight isnāt just about meāitās about consumer rights. Many wonāt challenge such unfair policies, but I can, and I will. Also, ā¹1,62,000 was after paying 30% income tax, meaning I had to earn much more just to afford this. A premium product should come with premium reliability and service, not failures and costly replacements in just 3 years.
This is about holding brands accountable so others donāt face the same issue.

February 18, 2025 at 11:15 amAppreciate the support bro! Iāve already escalated this to Sonyās top management via email, including the MD. Iāll follow up as needed, but if they remain unresponsive, Iām fully prepared to take this to consumer court.Itās not just about my caseāthis kind of after-sales service needs to be challenged so other premium customers donāt face the same issue. Will keep this thread updated!

February 18, 2025 at 10:26 amI get your point, but this isnāt just about warranty or obsolescenceāitās aboutĀ **Sony failing to support its own ā¹1,62,000 premium product just 3 years after purchase**.Sony hasĀ **no spare parts**, making the TVĀ **unrepairable**, and instead of taking responsibility, theyāre forcing aĀ **ā¹79,167 paid exchange**. Even if theyĀ **had the spare**, charging nearlyĀ **50% of the TVās original price**Ā for a repair isĀ **completely unfair**, especially whenĀ **their own technician confirmed the failure was not caused by me.**
A premium brand shouldĀ **ensure long-term serviceability**, not make customers pay again for their failure. If Sony follows this model,Ā **every high-end TV buyer is at risk of paying half the price again just to keep it working after 3 years.**
This isnāt just about one TVāitās aboutĀ **Sony setting a bad precedent for premium customers.**Ā A responsible brandĀ **stands by its products, not forces expensive repairs or replacements**

February 18, 2025 at 10:08 amItās disappointing that Sony has been doing this for decades. Earlier, store owners cared about customers, but now, with direct brand control, thereās no accountability. -
