I shared the copy with them, it was in fact stolen. And at first they said that they have insurance over these things but then they said that there was confidential data in it for US clients so they can’t report it as stolen so I will have to pay them. They are just trying to find ways to deduct my salary and keep me tied up to the job. When I suggested that I won’t be able to survive on deductions they said they couldn’t do anything to alter the payment mode as it was set up by higher up and has been “locked in the system.”

Problem is I don’t even have another job and I’m living on rent so I can’t even abscond like that. But if they deduct anything from my salary this month, I’ll be on the road. I’ll be on the road either way
