January 17, 2025 at 12:49 amI have suggested to my elders. Brother and mother.
Maybe they want to move on, mother says its better to end relations than to pertain and face further reflections.
Little relief, your last line, pal.UUser_edcc4abc

January 16, 2025 at 9:05 amUncle is not a culprit just a blue collar thug, free loader if not anything.
Grandfather was careless back then, and father never dreamt of such a situation we are in now, he was absolutely healthy until COVID-19 caused havoc.UUser_edcc4abc

January 16, 2025 at 8:05 amToday only he visited accompanied by an interested buyer, hence this post.
Ive had numerous chats with him in the span of 3 years since 2021 after my father passed away but he is orthodox, he finds me immature to take decision about a property since im like 40 years younger.
I can say this older generation in India has to learn from ‘now’ chill elders & boomers of rest of the world who pass on the accumulated wealth to the deserving.UUser_edcc4abc

January 16, 2025 at 7:54 amIt is a stupid mistake absolutely, in 1980s some families seemed to gel well amongst their kith-kin and relatives. Nobody cared whose house and whose name it bear on title. Disputes were there and im not denying, but such an event is unimaginable and unbearable.
Waiting for court’s decision for next 10 years will just destroy us financially, mother and uncle will expire by then, life.UUser_edcc4abc

January 16, 2025 at 7:48 amI know you are right, attachment for 30+ years absolutely is a vain which cannot vanish easily.
Interestingly, my grandfather had made legal papers accordingly but uncle abstained. Further, on his deathbed grandpa begged uncle to transfer ground + 1 to my father in 2009 but cunningly uncle let grandpa die, never contributed in hospital’s bills or any care required by grandparents. But the court/society will not accept any of this, we go by rules and not character.
I wish grandpa had done equivalent sharing while registry, we could’ve worked something out. -
