You can wait till next assembly elections or central government elections. During that time people will visit you again. If you are not in college, then there would be an announcement in the paper or in other news channels that electoral rolls are being updated and you can visit the near voting booth and get election card.

It is really good to get a voter card and actually vote. It is the only way those politicians would listen and our weapon to intimidate them.

In many places around the world the local enforcement of that place is notorious for taking money. So if everything is rotten why not use the rot to our advantage right?

If you have the original papers then you can file a petition in district court and then move upwards. Try to bribe local law enforcement better so that the company would face mountain of problems during construction phase.
