Okay, here’s the thing. Pay up if you wanna avoid the hassle of being dragged to the station(not literally)
My advise would be not pay at all. Don’t get violent but also don’t give in. Educate yourself on these laws. Public obscenity is sort of a gray area in the law and cops take advantage of it. What construes public obscenity? Well, if you made anyone uncomfortable in the public- sadly they can press charges. If there’s no one, cops will plant them. We live in a sorry state of a country and there’s not much we can do about it. Corruption won’t just go away and the lawmakers don’t care about it coz they’re all absolute garbage as well.
So, either study the laws on these subjects or make a really good lawyer friend. Cops hate lawyers(well, the ones that aren’t sold yet)

And no, she won’t get into any trouble. I’d suggest making a formal complaint to the police about this.WLol, no, I believe she can still file cases in India. I’m not sure about the statute of limitations here, though, or whether having sex under the false pretense of marriage on foreign soil is considered.
