I will tell you an old indian courtroom joke to reflect reality of this situation.
There was man who was made co-accused in some accident case when he was 60 year old. The case ran for twenty years and finally he was exonerated. Now 80 years old, he blessed the judge and said “I hope you become constable in your next life.” Judge was like – I am a Judge – I am much higher in hierarchy than a constable. The old man said, I didn’t knew that – I thought constable was much more powerful. Back when I was made co-accused, constable told me to pay Rs 50000 and he would remove my name in 20 minutes. However, for a judge to remove this accusation, it took 20 years and I had to spend Rs. 5,00,000 in lawyer fees. So, you know where the confusion arises?
