May 9, 2025 at 8:26 amDo you have a Kannada friend that you can take with you, because other than fine I don’t think there even is any punishment for public smoking, there is a chance that it’s a tactic to extort money.May 9, 2025 at 8:05 am in reply to: Got a notice for public smoking tells me to appear in court today #144AAlphastar8884

May 9, 2025 at 8:05 amNAL, Idk if they want to make an example due to the Kannada language thing going on, but I was fined once for smoking in public and didn’t get any calls or any further action. This was in Gurgaon, they just gave me the receipt for the challan and that was it.AAlphastar8884

April 8, 2025 at 12:19 pmYes OP, later if you decide to sell your house, the parking spot can be a sore spot. I know personally because we are also looking to buy a house rn and we have rejected many because of no dedicated parking.April 1, 2025 at 12:57 pm in reply to: How important (legally) it is to have middle name in India? #23404AAlphastar8884

April 1, 2025 at 12:57 pmI don’t think it’s mandatory anywhere in India, any form I’ve filled, I’ve left it blank and never faced any issue, this applies to bank forms, university forms, etc in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai. Also if it’s not required in passport, I doubt it will be a big issue anywhere else.AAlphastar8884

March 22, 2025 at 7:25 amYeah, people don’t realize that Delhi NCR was just the testing ground on the basis that it had higher pollution. The only reason they are getting away is because they know that car ownership, taxation, and related laws affect only around 7-8% of the total population. Out of these, business owners are less affected because they get depreciation and Input tax benefits. So at the end of the day, only middle class salaried citizens end up bearing the brunt of such retarded schemes and they have neither the time nor the means to organize protests and fight the system.
Even without doing any research I am willing to bet that replacing each and every car every 15 years has a much higher environmental impact than allowing them to run as long as they are within emission norms that can be set and enforced instead of this arbitrary time based obsoletion.

March 14, 2025 at 10:42 amNAL so I don’t know about the specifics of the law but in the specific Vadodara case, the following reasoning seems valid
1. The car belonged to the occupant, so he was technically responsible for putting the other person behind the wheel because it was in his power to refuse.
2. He was a witness (at the least) and could also be co accused if they were consuming the alcohol/drugs together and decided to drive after that. Also if the alcohol consumption was taking place in the car, then all occupants are at fault IIRC.

March 7, 2025 at 5:54 pmAfaik, you get a lot of money if the government acquires your land (provided it was purchased legally and was not govt land to begin with). You should properly research the law and rules of your state and precedents before making a move as the other party could negotiate for higher price if they become aware (provided they are currently not).AAlphastar8884

March 5, 2025 at 3:35 pmBro there’s a difference, I’m not going to say I own them, in fact I’m going to say that I’ll show you on official website on your device so there is no way I could have manipulated it. Make it sound like I’m doing it for their benefit and ease. There’s a way to talk to cops, saying things like my taxes pay your salary is rude to them no matter how true, you’re gonna get f*cked if you say such things unless you hold a lot of political power. You have to massage their ego, act like they hold all the power, act like them seeing it on their device is makes it less work for them. If you go around thinking taxpayer money means f*ck all to cops, you’ve not dealt enough with the realities of our country.
Let me break it down, there’s only 3 ways to deal with cops trying to make a quick buck
1. Lots of money (basically what they want)
2. Political influence (to leave them without choice)
3. Play the man (read their ego, play to emotions, act like they are the lord almighty)(If you have none of the above, youll have to try to get a combination of low degrees of any 2 points. Eg. some connections with a little money or a emotions with a little political influence)

January 21, 2025 at 3:55 amPretty much the exact same happened in my school, luckily I was not at school that day.At that time the parents let it cool down for 3-4 days, then came to the school as a group and one of them was an advocate and he printed out a legal notice (or so I’ve heard) and they approached the principal and asked for her receiving on the notice and declared that they will not pay school fees as their phones were expensive enough to be considered security against it. The principal said ok and everyone went home, then 2-3 days later the parents were called again and the phones were returned.
I can confirm that the phones were returned within a week but I can’t confirm whether the legal notice and holding back fees thing is legit as I was not involved.
