April 18, 2025 at 6:41 pmHopefully someone more learned would reply to the nuances, but as far as I recall, only assets acquired after marriage is split with spouse, but alimony and maintenance is set based on the overall income from all your income sources.April 18, 2025 at 6:26 pm in reply to: Can I legally protect future wealth from divorce by setting up offshore holding structures before marriage? April 18, 2025 at 6:26 pmNAL. If you’re paying taxes (legally) then all sources of your income are anyway declared to the government and can be easily be available to the court. It doesn’t matter where the business is set, they would look at how much you’re earning in total.April 17, 2025 at 8:51 pm in reply to: My sister’s husband is secretly marrying another woman in 3 days—refuses divorce, threatens us, and no one is helping. April 17, 2025 at 8:51 pmNAL. Were they married under Nikah or under civil law?
If it’s civil, polygamy is illegal but if it’s Nikah, she should be able to appeal in civil court, for divorce and get alimony and child support. I don’t see any reason she should continue with him, but it’s up to her. If their family has been abusive and physical, she can even file domestic violence charges.April 16, 2025 at 6:57 pm in reply to: Unjust Deduction from Rental Deposit Without Valid Reason #13486AAnshdude617

April 16, 2025 at 6:49 pmTill he doesn’t return the amount that is due, do not return the keys, that’s the only thing that will get you your money back. You can also let the new tenants know about the issue, why let someone else fall in the trap. You should definitely get a lawyer and send him a legal notice, so that can be used later in the court.April 16, 2025 at 6:43 pm in reply to: Urgent advice needed my girlfriends sister who’s a minor is being harrassed by someone, they shared intimate non nude video on Instagram from multiple accounts, we don’t the person behind this. April 16, 2025 at 6:37 pmNAL. If the rent agreement has an exit clause, and you have messaged him that you wish to leave and he still isn’t giving you your money back, I would say continue to stay and hire a lawyer to send him a notice. Do not vacate the house still it’s sorted. I would generally side with landlords, as tenants in general are in the wrong most of the times from my experience, but this is just ridiculous. 1L – downpayment for 7,500 rent per month? :/ Jeez. Is this Bangalore/Mumbai?April 15, 2025 at 3:07 pm in reply to: Can I travel abroad with passport without a police verification? #14255AAnshdude617

April 14, 2025 at 8:56 pmGet a lawyer, as NBW on cheque bounce is criminal offence, not a civil matter and there is imprisonment upto 2 years. Get yourself a lawyer quickly and don’t wait for summons as they could say tried contacting you on an address you weren’t living, and why would you sign blank cheque is beyond me. Hope you are able to get this resolvedAAnshdude617

April 14, 2025 at 8:40 pmNAL but you definitely need to lawyer up and NBW is serious. If the case was filed in 2022 and you were aware, did you not do anything to get to the bottom of it and get it cleared? or were you just known about it now after the NBW was issued? If you have cleared the bills and have a bank transaction to show, get your lawyer to sort it out quickly.April 14, 2025 at 8:13 pm in reply to: I absconded from my work without any notice or intimation and they sent me a mail #14899AAnshdude617

April 14, 2025 at 8:13 pmNAL but that doesn’t help either. They could simply say, you took the picture and did not return the asset. You can simply mention, you met the doctor and as per his/her suggestion, you’re going to resign, goto office and return the assets officially and get a sign off that the assets have been returned, you can even drop an email stating you’ve officially returned the assets. You really don’t need to be scared of no one. If they force you to serve notice period, you can without stressing about work.April 13, 2025 at 7:03 am in reply to: Is my employer legally required to share my medical test report with me if they arranged and paid for it? #15977AAnshdude617

April 13, 2025 at 7:03 amYou are entitled to the copy of the medical report, and it’s a must to safeguard any legal issues arising from it in the future. So you know, the report is not tampered as evidence. If you are denied, you can either move to another job considering the company is already being shady about their dealings or write an email to the HR stating since you have not been provided any copies of the medical report, you cannot vouch for its authenticity in the future and continue with the job. Choice is yours. I have not come across any company not sharing the medical report in my tenure.AAnshdude617

April 10, 2025 at 8:36 amNAL – You can simply report him for fraud with cyber police, there is nothing he can do, its just scare tactics. Now the question – will you be getting your money back? I highly doubt, consider this is a lesson learnt without burning lacs.April 9, 2025 at 6:12 pm in reply to: Bank threatening to close bank account over unpleasant interaction #18067AAnshdude617

April 9, 2025 at 6:12 pmNAL, if there is a fraud – you should be reporting it to the police station instead of dealing with the branch on your own and report it to the bank’s nodal officer. -
