April 8, 2025 at 5:23 amIt’s too late now.Remember, credit card debt/fraud is not to be taken lightly. Any wrong entry should be investigated and reported to the bank.
She should check her CIBIL. If there is some problem with CIBIL she should immediately block the card. Then she should ask for the statement from the bank. If the statement is in some other name & address, she should inform the bank.
Email/mobile number do get mixed up specially when so called bank agents are involved.

March 27, 2025 at 5:38 amDo you have any proof that the screw was not damaged by you ? If not, most probably they can get away with it.As you say its internal screw on wifi card. If none of the seal on outer screws/body were broken then you can challenge it. But don’t do anything verbally. Do each and every correspondence by email/registered mail and keep proper documentation so that you can produce everything at later date.
These companies would call you & promise you the moon and then won’t do anything as they know the customer can’t prove anything. Even if you receive any call, carefully record the name, designation, calling number, date & time. Then send an email to customer care summarising the call along with all the details.

March 24, 2025 at 1:12 pmThey can’t force the family to pay. At the most, they can file a civil suit for recovery from the estate of your father or if your father had any other accounts with them, debit those accounts. Some people have also raised question about insurance. Normally, majority of the cards have only accident insurance only and that too air accidents. Other accidents may not be covered and natural deaths may certainly not be covered. Go to the bank web site(s) and download the card feature. Check there. If life insurance is given with the card, then the outstanding would be recovered from the insurance and rest insurance would be paid to you. You would have have to dig up the nominee information to claim that & supply supporting documents, if applicable.
Don’t unnecessarily keep on emailing or calling the banks about the outstanding. They have to send either a registered letter or an email (on your father’s email id) before taking any action. If any recovery agent calls you or threatens you, record the call and report to police.
Hope it helps.
