Iβm a doctor. The protocol is to ask the patient to undress themselves and place your breasts on the machine for a mammogram. Most hospitals ( esp the ones with high caseload) donβt have a separate female technician for female patients. The male technician gives instructions and steps into the processing room. Iβm guessing there were some miscommunication from both ends. But obviously, it is not protocol to undress themselves patient by a doctor/ any health personnel, unless the patient is in a condition where they cannot do it themselves, in that case a female chaperone presence in mandatory.
