Just preserve the WhatsApp message where that one guy confessed to you was scammed.
      Also, preserve the call recordings.

And feel free to keep exposing them on social media.

          Hi OP, we meet again.

That letter won’t hold much value in court as its authenticity can be challenged but you’re an idiot for writing it nevertheless.

Write to the Commissioner and DCP that you were forced to write a false confessional letter. Name the officers in the letter.
Also, file an RTI seeking the CCTV recordings of the police station for that date and time period, and for the the entries in the police station’s logbook.

**In your previous post before visiting the PS, I had warned you that the police might be in cahoots with the H1B scammers since police cannot investigate non-cognizable offence and demand our presence over a simple phone call.**

Then how exactly is OP’s mother getting 35k maintenance?

            Indian law is sometimes contradictory.
Child marriage isn’t legal in India but the law still recognizes married couples who were wedded off as minors.

You can directly request him. If he agrees, all well and good.

If you’re a Hindu woman, your father might be legally required to support you until you’re married. Confirm this with a lawyer though.

OR you can ask the lawyer whether your mother can approach court to raise the maintenance.

I don’t think a private company is subject to RTI. (Unless maybe if it’s partly owned by govt or by a public servant.)

Like I replied to you under your other post, if it isn’t too far away then visit.

If you can’t send someone on you behalf, try to take someone with you.

Highly unlikely something will happen if you go alone but it depends upon the area and the police station..

You didn’t mention these details in your previous post.

High chance that the SI is hands-in-gloves with the company and they want to extort money from you given they have excuse to scare you and know you have 6 lakhs laying around.

Message the other people in your WhatsApp group about the details of the scam.
Call them, pretend you cannot hear them and then text. Just somehow get them to confess in writing that they were scammed.

If the police station isn’t too far away, then visit.

But defamation case isn’t cognizable offence. Police has no power to investigate it unless they have been ordered the magistrate having jurisdiction. But by then you would’ve likely received a notice.

If he’s a real cop then why not send a notice instead of calling you?

I don’t think you understand what a “non-cognizable” offence means.
A non-cognizable offence cannot be investigated by the police unless directed by a magistrate.

Nor do I think a real cop would demand a bribe on call or leave a paper trail by sending you a notice. (Especially if it’s a non-cognizable offence.)

May I ask how did you verify that is really is the real SI?

Also, what did you he tell you about the complaint?

You shouldn’t have deleted the review.

That being said. Defamation isn’t a cognizable offence. The police cannot register an FIR against you even if you don’t visit them.
This also could be a scam to extort money from you.

                              Things I’d suggest:

                              * Ask them to send you a legal notice mentioning the BNSS section.
                              * Ask for their names and the exact police station.
                              * Call the police station (google their official landline) and ask whether the cops named work there and if the number they’re calling you from is theirs.

Just Google “Man acquitted after 20 years” and you’ll understand why.

Another point I’d like to add is:
The legal system is biased against men and against the poor.

Just like the rapists of Nirbhaya deserved the death penalty, the rapists of Bilkis Bano and the murders of her child also deserved the same fate too.
But they were given life in prison with Gujarat’s BJP govt. even remitting their sentences (later overturned by SC). Even a BJP MLA commented that they were *sanskari brahmins*.

In 2019, a woman who convicted and serving life for murdered her own children received a suspended sentence (Google “High Court Grants Divorce to Man Whose Wife Was Convicted for 2010 Murder of Their Two Children”)

There are probably many more such cases where the influential and women are spared.

Fake gold is still property. OP can state that jewellry was stolen.

Or he can buy gold plated jewellry. More expensive than fake gold but much cheaper then jewellry made entirely of gold.
