March 18, 2025 at 1:33 pm1. Check with any other colleagues in the org who may have gone on maternity leaves on how the conduct of the company was with them. If you see a trend, they can’t be trusted.
2. Overall evaluate your work situation on parameters like – Would it hurt their business if I resigned, was I one of the bottom performers that they anyway wanted to let go, my cluster/business unit/city could be anything was not doing very well?
3. Have you abused WFH in the past? Does your manager not trust you to WFH?
4. Are they laying off any other people?Do not take any of the above personally, it’s a generic view. Nothing personal.
This should give you an idea on why they are doing what they are doing and what they could do. It’s an unfortunate situation but it is what it is.
Do consider to consult a lawyer and send a legal notice if the terms of employment contract are violated. But always remember what it comes with. That said, no company would like to risk any PR disaster or legal tussle around women and maternity especially.

February 28, 2025 at 5:14 amPeople stand up when they see somebody else standing up too. Common in POSH cases.POSH is independent and has the rights to investigate like a civil court. So let them investigate if it is so ‘sus’. If it is false, OP should get out of it easily and if the complaint was false, then the committee can take action on the complainant too.
Honestly, this is too much work to fire a techie from a mid size org. Didn’t have to go this far unless they really had a case.

If she however decides to go the SA or SH route and she is able to produce some proof. You are screwed. But she is also at the risk of coming out to her husband. So that may be some saving grace.
Whatever proof you gather, she can fuck you legally and morally in front of other people (she also has a lot of leverage considering she knows a lot of ppl you know)
I would say be very smart and careful about it and you have to deal with it situationally.
