Under the Special Marriage Act, there’s a mandatory 30-day notice period, and it’s usually displayed on a notice board at the registrar’s office. Some lawyers claim they can speed up the process, but legally, there’s no real way to skip this step.

If time or safety is a concern, you might want to explore other options, like converting and marrying under personal laws (Hindu or Muslim marriage acts) or even looking at states with different procedures. You could also talk to a good lawyer who can guide you properly based on your circumstances

Honestly, waiting won’t change anything—if they want to file false cases, they will do it anyway. Better to take control and file for divorce first rather than stay stuck in fear.

Even if you don’t have solid proof, courts do consider circumstantial evidence and witness testimonies.

Your brother’s financial records (showing forced payments) can be useful.

Her lack of cohabitation and history of accusations (without medical/legal proof) weakens her case.

Get a good lawyer ASAP, document whatever proof you have (bank records, chats, anything), and be prepared for their accusations. If her family tries to intimidate you, don’t hesitate to file counter-cases. The longer this drags on, the worse it will be for your brother’s mental health.

This is a tricky situation, but legally, your friend has a strong case. Since polygamy is illegal under Hindu law, the second wife’s marriage might not even be valid, meaning she may not have inheritance rights. The heir promissory note where she gave up her share could help in court, but since her name is on the property papers, things could get complicated.

If the property was self-acquired by your friend’s father, your friend and their sibling have a better chance of securing it. If it’s ancestral, she might try to claim a share. As for the unborn child, they won’t automatically have rights to your friend’s father’s property unless legally proven as his child.

Your friend should consult a lawyer ASAP to prevent any legal trouble down the line. Better to act now before things get messier!

If no FIR has been filed yet, there’s a chance they’re just trying to scare you into paying. If they do file one, you’ll have legal options to fight it. As for your bike and license, they can only be seized if you’re found guilty, which isn’t certain. Since the officer knows the child, stay cautious and document everything. If you get any official notice, talk to a lawyer right away.

This sounds like an intimidation tactic to pressure you into paying. Since there’s been no response from the police for three days, it’s best to wait and not engage unless they contact you again.

**Will your bike be seized or license suspended?** Unlikely unless an FIR has been filed.

              **Should you pay?**
No. You already offered â‚č10K as a goodwill gesture, which they refused. Giving in now might only lead to more demands.

              **What should you do next?**

Check if an FIR has been registered (visit the police station or check online if possible).

Avoid direct contact with the family and keep records of all calls/messages in case they keep harassing you.

If the police call you again, consult a lawyer before making any statements.

Right now, just stay calm and don’t engage unless legally required. If they keep bothering you, you could even file a complaint for harassment.

*Summons:* Usually takes weeks to months after the charge sheet is filed.

*Settlement:* NDPS cases can’t be privately settled, but a lawyer can help with discharge or leniency.

*FIR to CC Number:* Typically 60-90 days after FIR.

*Passport Renewal:* Needs court permission due to pending charges.

Sounds like your lawyer is either stalling or something’s off. Might be a good idea to consult another lawyer and see if you’re being misled. If things feel shady, you can report them to the Bar Council. Since the court isn’t accepting evidence now, check if there’s a way to appeal or fix the submission issue. If you genuinely suspect foul play, don’t wait—gather proof and act fast. A good lawyer should be fighting for you, not dragging things out.

Report the account and the post immediately. If you’re hesitant to go to the police station, you can file a complaint online at cybercrime.gov.in. This will ensure the person learns a lesson for a lifetime. Stay strong and support your friend—she doesn’t deserve this.

Legally, they can’t do anything against you. Saying no to a marriage proposal isn’t a crime, and just because your families talked doesn’t mean you’re obligated to go through with it. However, since they’re repeatedly calling and making concerning statements, it’s a good idea to keep a record of all communication in case things get worse. If the threats continue, your family might want to consult a lawyer or even go to the police for harassment.

Also, this lady and her family are massive red flags. If, by any chance, your family reconsiders, they will make your life hell. Your family dodged a bullet—stay firm in your decision.

First, ask them for a clear breakdown of the extra payment(including pay slips, tax deductions(form 16), and any supporting documents) and how they plan to adjust the tax part. Since it was their mistake, they should ensure you don’t lose out on taxes.

If paying 4L at once is difficult, try negotiating for an installment plan. Many companies agree to this if you stay firm. Also, get a written confirmation that they won’t withhold your relieving letter once the payment is made.

If they’re being rigid, consider speaking to a labor lawyer—sometimes just mentioning legal consultation makes companies more flexible.

Provide some context—why were they called? On Instagram, it is mentioned that the director called the cops, and they barged into the hostel. There must be some background story; the police wouldn’t barge in without a reason. To get proper advice, please provide complete information.

Bro, in NCR, it’s best not to mess with people driving Thar, Creta, Fortuner, or Scorpio. Many of them have connections and a tendency for road rage. It’s not worth the risk—just let them go and avoid unnecessary trouble.

Yes, you can file an FIR under Section 323 (causing hurt) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC. Visit the nearest police station with medical reports and file a complaint. If they refuse, escalate to the SP, NCPCR (ncpcr.gov.in), or District Education Officer. Also, document everything and hold the school accountable for inaction.

Wishing your brother a speedy recovery.

If a college can’t afford to host a fest without extorting students, they shouldn’t be hosting one at all. Forcing payments under exam threats is pure exploitation. Name and shame them—this needs to stop.

Post about this on social media(not from your personal account), tagging relevant authorities like AICTE, UGC, and education ministers. Naming and shaming might force them to respond.

Throw him out or walk away—your peace is worth it. If your mom won’t leave, focus on getting yourself out first. Look into legal options (Domestic Violence Act, 2005) and women’s helplines. Save money, plan your escape, and don’t let him break you.
