KIt is not even his step daughter. It is his uncle’s own daughter from first wife. He thinks just because his uncle married a second wife, the daughter from first wife becomes uncle’s step daughter. He did not. Sorry had to get it out.KNAL. This is sad and is very common. Leaves a bad taste with the grand children. Basically what that grand mother has done is to be hated permanently on the father’s side.
It sometimes get worse were the father dies and the grand mother uses her bias against the daughter in law and unfairly helps her other progenies.
Women/mothers/wives are not gods. They are as crappy in their behavior as others. Only when the shoe is in the wrong foot that the sons and their children feel the pain.
I have seen families where one son has earned everything and contributed to a flat in Mumbai. The other son has contributed bare minimum. The other son puts his wife’s name on the flat as well with the excuse of getting gas connection and 10 years later demand 66 percent of the flat. Fuckers.
KIt depends on how you want to deal.
1. Ignore until they escalate.
2. Pay them off if you want to live peacefully at the same location. They will ask you to sell any inherited father or ancestral assets you inherited (if any), gold, etc..I am assuming no siblings. Under no circumstances get married until the above issues are resolved or you can put enough distance between them so that they cannot trace you.

Yes. Unofficial loans taken fall under a difffent category. The more you personally engage with those parties you get dragged into the quagmire.
KLooks like that and maybe I phrased my post incorrectly. How to send a notice to take them to court ? I guess a lawyer is needed there and the costs would be different.
