When I watch foreign true crime documentaries, I’m fascinated by the forensic and detective work they put into tracing the criminal. When I watch Indian true crime documentaries, I see cops saying – we caught him, we ā€˜interrogated’ him and he told us

Although it’s a bad sign starting a new relationship with such lack of trust but esp in cases of arranged marriages, we need to normalise prenups in India šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

All these cases will be filed in different courts and you don’t need to appear in all of them. The ones you file against the bank will move slowly but the ones you file against your father might see some action. But if you don’t know where he is then it might be difficult cos they can’t serve him notice

The bank should be able to removed your mother’s name from the loan if you show the divorce was taken before disbursing the loan. Also if your mother did not sign the loan docs then she’s not liable

If anyone is settling with mutual consent, agreeing to let the non custody parent pay after the divorce is done is recipe for disaster. You don’t get closure, there’s always risk of the other party discontinuing to pay and you are still reliant

Take whatever you agree before the divorce and then plan your life accordingly

That divorce can be challenged anytime in the future in India.

And what’s the need to be hostile for something so trivial?

And I can tell you that only the laws favor women. The courts are run by men

If the marriage was conducted in India then even if you do this, it’s not valid. Foreign courts don’t have jurisdiction in the place where the marriage was solemnised

                              NAL

Matrimonial cases rarely get settled in court in India. It’s always settled mutually or through mediation. So you will have to pay what you mutually agree. Get a good lawyer who can negotiate a good deal for you. Or if you’re ok get one who will drag things in court which frustrates the other party bringing them to the negotiating table. If you’re able to show with evidence that you and her have similar savings it’ll help your case

From the responses I’m seeing OP being a je*k to responses telling them they effed up. I don’t think they’re looking for solutions, they’re looking for ppl to go ā€˜awww you poor thing’

You’ve reached your masters without having understood that actions have consequences?? An absolutely unrelated student couldn’t have been held responsible for an incident. Either you’re close with the ppl who did it or you’re actually involved. What’s the reason only 14 were picked?

IIM is a state institute. Their credibility (and funding) depends on following laid down protocol. This sh*t might float in private colleges. And they also want quality alumni. If this goes out in the industry, there are some fields you will NEVER get hired in, banking for example.
