MShould have gone ahead with the complaint if it wasn’t your fault.
He was riding someone else’s vehicle, without helmet and moreover changing lanes without indicator. The owner also would be impleaded and they would have backed off.MI’m not sure what terms you have agreed to. But you shouldn’t have asked for the bill. Instead you should have insisted to get it repaired at your known mechanic. He is extorting because he knows you’re concerned about the complaint.MMy two cents would be let it go and don’t think about it. He is not gonna ask for money and even if he does don’t entertain.MYou have only two options
1. Settle and don’t regret about the money paid.
2. File a case, go through the hassle, claim insurance, spend more in legal costs than what you would have paid in point 1 above and regret/not regret.Either way you’re gonna lose money. That’s the problem with decent people.
