PThe same thing happened with my family recently in North Bengal, one influential person was encroaching upon our premises and when resisted the TMC goons came as a mob and heckled us giving death threats. We called the police but the police seemed to favour them instead of arresting them or calling out the mob, the police told both party to file an FIR.
Even the local club had joined hands and everyone was against us and threatened to close all the gates, exits and lock up in our homes.
We contacted the ward commissioner but even after she told us that illegal construction has to be removed nothing happened.
We could not keep up the fight for long and had to make a settlement.WB is a place where rule of law is not the norm but whoever has money and muscle power makes the law. The government is blind to the sufferings of common people and they are running a syndicate to extort money.
Only courts can help you and you will have to contact a good lawyer. For hostile neighbours nothing can be done, the wb police is a mere spectator and extortionist. No doubt so many crimes take place but they refuse to file a complaint. They only take complaints where one or both the parties can be extorted.
PThe aunt has already filed for probate and has taken the property under her possession. The OP is suspicious that the aunt has taken advantage and has set boundaries that were not there and has encroached upon OP’s land which he co ownes with his sibling and mother.PTaking such land issues to the court is futile in most of the cases. You will have to pay at each level. Even the revenue department officials will ask for a cut and the whole process is draining and will take years. Eventually it will not be worth the hassle.
Still you can get the land resurveyed for finding out any discrepancy. Taking the matter to the court is up to you and depends on which state you belong to.PIn india everything you need is available for money. You just have to know where to pay. Corruption is rampant and is encouraged.PEven here in delhi in all the trips I have taken with rapido, the driver has never returned the change. Even after reporting they don’t provide the refund. Their service is pathetic and the majority of the drivers are dishonest.PGovt departments don’t act on anonymous complaint. Further, if you don’t have any evidence and nobody else is going to testify then surely you are digging your grave. Just get a thick skin or get transferred from that palce or proceed on a sick leave. As the proverb goes ‘ pani me rahkar magarmach se bair’, it’s risky for you to complain.
Try some innovative ideas either to please him so that he alters his behaviour or else to piss him but covertly.
