Depends on what you classify as “Senior Lawyer”. If you are talking about a designated Senior Advocate, then most of them, at least in Delhi, will charge approximately 1 lac per hearing. Now your cases may come up every month or they may be heard once in 2-3 months. There is no guarantee but the Senior Advocate will charge that amount. This amount is excluding any other legal fee you may incur in drafting your pleadings and meetings with the Senior Advocate.

Not really. Retainers are for companies who require legal services of the lawyer on a recurring basis. You just need to hire the lawyer for preparing the will, and separately for getting the will executed. It would be prudent to stay in touch with the lawyer but there is no need to pay him a retainer fee on a monthly basis.

This is mostly a question of morality. Technically, the guy didn’t do anything illegal, but it is up to you and your conscience.

If you really want to take revenge for what the guy did, then you can tell his wife. But you don’t know how his wife will react. It can range from indifference to initiation of divorce proceedings.
