January 25, 2025 at 9:09 amIt’s very rare. By the time they reach HC/SC, ego and arrogance often take over. With no accountability, they start viewing themselves as God’s avatars.January 25, 2025 at 9:05 am in reply to: What laws to state when a police officer starts abusing/hitting us? #67257SSamirguru216

January 25, 2025 at 9:05 amYour luck ran out that day!Article 14 is merely symbolic. Judges in India are above the law and lack any accountability.

January 25, 2025 at 9:00 amIt’s sad to read such cases. On one hand, there is a long line of false 498a cases, and on the other, genuine ones like yours, for which this provision was originally made, do not take recourse. This is clearly a case of 498a and domestic violence. While I am totally against false cases, if what you are saying is true, hire a good advocate and file all the cases meant to help women like you, such as 498a and domestic violence. All the best!

January 25, 2025 at 8:41 amIt will be tried under POCSO since you were a minor then, which is an extremely strict provision. His life will be screwed forever. Remember, your verbal statement is also an “evidence”. Even if, for any reason, he is not convicted, the process itself is hell for an accused.
Discuss with your parents and ask yourself what kind of punishment you wish to see for him.
Don’t worry regarding the support from cops etc, our legal system, as bad as it maybe, does take POCSO complaints very seriously.

January 21, 2025 at 1:14 pmYeah, our system is maddening. Regarding Saif, I had the same thought. I read somewhere that 150 cops were deployed for his case! Clearly, being rich and a celebrity makes life easy in this country. One way I’ve successfully gotten my money back is by calling partners or nearby shop owners, informing them of the situation, and nicely asking if they can help. Even fraudsters want to maintain their reputations in front of neighbors.
By the way, how much are you going to pay the lawyer for the notices?
