Cancel the check anyways. If a legal case comes, the other person will choose to settle as he will realise that settling you 40k and resolving it is better than giving money to lawyer to fight against you.

This was a common scam 1-2 years back in Kerala. The customers of federal bank were mostly affected. Many of the merchants account got frozen stating that they received money(usually the UPI payments which they get from customers in shops) and this customer was part of some scam and hence this merchants account will be frozen

All these cases were reported from gujrat. The bank officials will eventually pass the contact number of these officials and then the bargaining used to start.

Many reported that these policemen knew exactly how much money was in their account and they demanded a share of that money. People who had their entire business expenses blocked in the account had no other way but to send this bribe and unlock it.

If the bank don’t get their money back even after selling their house, it’s their loss. They cannot come after you since your father don’t have anything else in his name.

Basically it is the creditors’ responsibility to assess whether the person has the capacity to repay the loan. If they assess wrongly, it’s their mistake.

Try getting the owner number from the association. And if not, approach police. If these people are professionals, it will scare them as it is a shame.

Even if they want to file a case, they can’t legally file a case as you haven’t done anything wrong legally.

Pimping and running a brothel is prohibited and punishable. Taking the services of an escort is not illegal.

New roomie asking for deposit is a problematic one. While living as bachelors, we didn’t think much and did this. A new person coming to our flat gave his deposit to the old one who was leaving.

The issue came after few months when we had to vacate the flat. The house owner deducted a lot of the deposit as there were repairing expenses. If the old roomie was there, it would have been simple and we could have divided the loses equally. Now it didn’t make sense to a guy who came 1-2 months ago to lose his deposit for something which happened which was not in his tenure. And we tried to ask the old roomie to transfer his share of loss, but he started avoiding our calls.

Is your family also Muslim? If not, they would be married under special marriage act which doesn’t allow him to marry again

In this case, will you be rewarded all the previous rents if you win the case? Or evicting the tenant is the only verdict if you win?

I once had this issue where someone sent an amount by mistake. I had to provide a written letter to my nearest branch and they transferred the amount back to the person.

You wont be having to pay the income tax if it is deducted back by the bank.

But make sure they are deducting it back after getting consent from you, not you send back the money by yourself through neft/upi.

This. Indian police will be slow in action. But onlyfans can hurt her by banning her

Don’t postpone the handing over the keys as many people suggested here

Postponing it nd keeping the key by yourself will give him the excuse that you are still occupying the flat.

I lost that earlier. I approached a agent. He took money from me to advertise in news paper. Then few days later, I went to see him once he did the advertising. Along with the paper cut, had to go to my nearby police station to get a clearance. (He arranged a ex-CPO whom I paid an amount to come with me. Had to do this as I was not much aware of the process and I didn’t want to waste time as I was in a timeline). After getting clearance, i took the report from police. Then the agent booked a slot for me in passport office. Went there at the appointment time and they printed and handed over me the passport in few steps.
