She can file a complaint against you under BNS section 318 previously 420.
You should file the complaint and when she files complaint against you then your previously filed complaint will be 1 little help.
Best option for you is file a complaint first and then workout some sort of return payment plan to your friend & then return that money. If in future your complaint gets resolved you will get your money return or not.

Also, next time do not try to be a messiah.
