April 12, 2025 at 12:51 pmBonds were always enforceable. It’s a contract you sign. What they can’t do is force a 3 months notice period or prevent you from leaving the firm. That’s against the constitution. You can still be forced to pay any amount that you’ve signed up for your bond at the time of leaving.April 12, 2025 at 3:48 am in reply to: When the investigation of the 26/11 terrorist is over… what Indian laws are stopping the govt from opening a public attraction where a person can whip him with a belt on the butt for the price of 1 to 1.5 lakh rupees… side hustle wise…? as stupid as that sounds.. is there technically a law ? #16682SSurajowl716

March 28, 2025 at 4:24 pmAnd she’s still in jail. Reach out to an ngo or go public on Twitter. Someone needs to clear her case, and the police don’t seem to care. One thing – doesn’t she have any relatives in India? Unless someone’s an orphan, she must be having someone in her family. Why don’t you try contacting them? If she was an orphan, then an orphanage would have her records.
Contacting them would be the best way. They can get further documents and also reach out to local political leaders in West Bengal to get support.

March 28, 2025 at 2:43 pmContact a lawyer and get ready to pay the bills. There’s no easy way to solve this without the involvement of a legal professional. I don’t know if you can find pro bono legal service in your city. Check with ngos if they can take the case.As a citizen, you won’t be able to solve this yourself without legal help.

March 26, 2025 at 1:07 pmI think such moves have been tried. The court will look at the accounts and ask for the majority of the cash to be transferred to the wife. Or might give a share of the ancestral property to the wife. The point is, the courts will make sure the husband pays his share and cannot try such tricks.

March 26, 2025 at 6:15 amYes. In fact if it’s not possible to split the property, and you already have an ancestral property belonging to your father, then the court might hand over the new apartment to her.Monthly alimony is on top of this fyi.
That’s basically what usually comes out from family courts. If you petition higher, then depending on the case, a favorable ruling might come for you. But the easy and almost default outcome is the one you are anticipating in your post.

March 26, 2025 at 4:49 amThe police didn’t come because you have no proof. You can’t just randomly file a case against someone without some reason or justification.First, answer these questions –
1. How do you store your water? Tank? Well?
2. How easy is it to access the storage area from the outside?
3. Is there any proof that your neighbour is/was in conflict with you? Will your other neighbours back the claim?
4. Any past incident where they have tried damaging your property?
From a neutral perspective, do you have any reasonable proof or testimony that your neighbour could’ve, and would’ve done this? Could it be done by random bystanders or pedestrians?
I don’t see a case here. Better to secure your water supply (with proper housing like a tank) and if that can’t be done then install a cctv camera. It’s not very expensive. Will be far cheaper than the lawyer fees for the court case.
March 26, 2025 at 3:14 am in reply to: My dad passed away last month leaving behind 2 credit card bills. Is my family liable to pay? #28468SSurajowl716

March 26, 2025 at 3:14 amThere are two angles to this.If you inherit your father’s assets, then you will inherit the liabilities too. That means you’ll be liable to pay the amount.
On the other hand, credit cards are unsecured loans. That means if you don’t pay, then banks can’t do shit to you. They can initiate a proceeding in court about taking the money from your father’s estate, which is basically the assets getting transferred to you. But they won’t do anything for 30k inr.
But they might transfer the case to a loan recovery agent. They will keep harassing you and your family. If you can deal with them, then don’t bother paying. They will eventually write it off.
