I got my axis account closed by reporting to ombudsman. Had visited the branch. The executive told me that the account cannot be closed without paying the amount of ₹2600. I did not pay the same and instead I complained to RBI ombudsman through their website. After the complaint reached the branch, the bank manager called me and apologise and told me to not complain to ombudsman from next time and close my account without any service charges.
