February 14, 2025 at 6:46 pmPoint is there is nothing guilty about changing oneās mind, itās a human right. Forcing anyone to go through with a marriage they donāt want is what should be illegal.UUser_50357398

February 14, 2025 at 10:51 amI saw that in movies like raja ki aayegi baaraat but wasnāt sure it was actually true. These are horrible laws and need to be updated. If you arenāt happy having sex with someone youāre not married to, donāt, but if you do, donāt think they owe you marriage because they donāt. Everyone should have the right to change their mind, this is absolutely insane. Those of us born outside of India often romanticise being Indian and sometimes wish we were born/grew up in India as maybe itād feel more homely (for lack of better word), itās easy to feel torn as someone of Indian family background being born and raised in the west, but things like this really do make you realise how hard living in India must be. I am honestly shocked that there are legitimate laws stopping men from changing their mind about who they want to marry.UUser_50357398

February 13, 2025 at 11:22 pmbut why did you and your mother have a problem with her visiting her own parents and her family home? You were staying with your parents and she canāt even regularly visit hers? Alimony and all is wrong, legally I hope itās in your favour as marriage/divorce shouldnāt be a business transaction so all the best. However i am perplexed by your and your motherās idea of it being ok for you guys to dictate how much she should see her own parents, very odd behaviour.UUser_50357398

February 5, 2025 at 10:32 pmSorry to ask a question and not have advice for you but genuinely curious, how did they have a Muslim ceremony without converting – is that possible? I heard Nikaah is only allowed between Muslims and converts.UUser_50357398

February 5, 2025 at 10:30 pmRelatively recent maybe but still thatās the current legal advice. Itās good to know they revised to make more sense as forcing a woman to go through with a pregnancy against her own choice is horrific beyond comprehension.UUser_50357398

February 5, 2025 at 10:25 pmAccording to Indiaās Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act, a woman in India does NOT need her husbandās consent to get an abortion. Both married and unmarried women are legally entitled to get an abortion up to 24 weeks into the pregnancy due to multiple reasons including if contraception failed. Only the consent of the pregnant woman is required for a termination of pregnancy – adult women in India do not require any other personās consent regardless of their marital status.UUser_50357398

February 5, 2025 at 10:21 pmIām not from India and found it insane when I read your message so I googled and checked with AI, and youāre wrong. As per the Supreme Court of India, all women, including those who are not married, can get an abortion for up to 24 weeks. Thankfully it appears India doesnāt allow women to make a choice for their body! -
