      as per canismajoris reddit user.
As this is a “family matter,” the police can be reluctant and avoidant in offering assistance.

It might be helpful to approach local NGOs for material support, as navigating these types of situations can be daunting. Even better, consider contacting a lawyer who can help you approach this matter in a more robust manner.

To address your query, the following steps are usually taken in such matters:

      1. An order under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, specifically the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence order.

      2. An injunction, also known as a restraining order, under the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973.

If these options fail, you might consider obtaining a civil injunction under Section 94 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.

Collect all the necessary pieces of evidence to satisfy the court’s attention. This will not only help you obtain an order but also ensure its permanence. Since this involves restricting someone else’s freedom, the court requires specific and clear proof that such measures are necessary, not just temporarily but permanently.

The simcard should be the least of your concerns, you’ll have your entire family/caste behind you to get you back. being young they’ll easily coerce you by saying you’re mentally ill or something. first contact a lawyer near your place and get it done legally. leaving a note and running away won’t work, you won’t be able to leave your area before they catch you and bring you back.

along with the documents you should inform the local police station in writing you are leaving your home out of your own free will and you don’t want to be with your parents, because there is a chance they may file a missing complaint.
