WOnce you get your Portugal Passport you are foreigner working in India. Just OCI is not enough. You need an India work Visa.
PAN will be different. Bank will change – you no longer can have a SB account.
Do not listen to half baked nonsense. Talk to a CA or advocate. Check with your HR beforehand too. They cannot hire foreigners in any position. There are specific requirements that the company also needs to do to hire a foreigner.
Wš¤£š¤£š¤£ yes they will probably have their fatherās surname.In this case consider that your surname will change after marriage. You will probably take your Husbandās name and surname and all previous documentation is valid with the marriage certificate. As name change is after marriage.
In this case you donāt need to worry – just expand your initial.
Letās say you are Pinky D(Dharmendra), you can start using Pinky Dharmendra for IT, bank. For Passport you can use Pink Dharmendra.
After marriage you can get passport changed to Pinky Rahul (husbandās name) sahastrabuddhi or Pink D sahastrabuddi or Pinky D Rahul as you wish.
But make sure you name your kids properly with surnameā¦else they will have the same issue in the future.
WMy 2 cents:1. Passport and all international document (visa, international school, etc) will need a 2nd name (either fatherās or Surname)
2. I used my fatherās name as I was in the same situation. Now my kidās names are having my name as surname and not the actual surname.
According to me the best would have been that I use a family surnameā¦for whatever reason it was not being used, check with grandparents, relatives what your surname is.
Eg – Your name . Initial of father (can be expanded fully as middle name) . Surname (eg: Sharma, Trivedi, nishad, Gowda, Patil, etc)
That way further documentation will be corrected.
Concerning your previous documentation (SSC marks sheet), Name . initial is acceptable ( just make an affidavit that the person is you)
Edit: wanted to add: all previous documentation still has your single name + s/o your fatherās name. So the documentation is valid in my above example.
Point 2. Birth certificate- typically the original birth certificate only have Sonā¦birthdateā¦.hospitalā¦.and your parents names. So it ties into the documentation. You can if needed have a new Birth certificate made with your full name as suggested above.
Example name would look like : Rahul . D (fatherās name dharmendra) . Sahastrabuddi

WSo keeping the facade – functions, social engagement etc, while staying separate would work?Let whatever both of you do not affect kids. Kids may not talk but parents behaviour has deep impact on them. They should not consider this the norm.
If there are extra marital issues on both sides, keep them away from kids, at least until they start forming their own opinions.
WHow about moving out and staying by yourself or whoever else you want to be with?Visit every now and then.
No divorce. No relationship. Legally still married, but doing your own things. Are the kids older? Do they understand? Please think about kids wellbeing. Once they understand and accept (and are legally adults), both can do whatever each wants.
