April 16, 2025 at 8:06 amShe can’t demand alimony or maintainance as she wants. It will be decided by court based on current assets in your father’s name and his savings+earning.E.g. if a man having 1L saving and 90k per month salary living in rented house without any other asset in his name can’t be forced to pay 10L or 20L as alimony.
Court may ask to pay a lump sum from 1L and an amount monthly from 90K

April 16, 2025 at 7:54 amWhat’s wrong in paying alimony and maintainance if your father is ready to divorce? It her right as a married women. It will solve problem for everyone.
She can dress up and look the way she is comfortable. You or your sis should not be looking to dictate this part of her own life. She should be troubled just to satisfy your grudge of taking your mother’s place in your father’s life.

April 7, 2025 at 12:46 amNALYour mother should be getting be getting half from 2/3 of sale proceeds of the house and I am assuming that your mothers youngest uncles wife or her maternal side descendants are alive at the moment.
It’s not legal to tie your mother getting her share to your maternal uncles self acquired flat sale.

April 2, 2025 at 6:22 amLawyer up to contain further damage to your financial position. She is co-owner so she has 50% rights without paying even a single rupee.
If you have home loan on your single name then stop paying that and let it go into default and auction. Buy the same from auction or enjoy you half part from it.
Same half part can go towards your cash/asset while alimony gets decided.
