CWell there are various aspects to the issue.
1) The patriarchy is highly practiced. And females and Der families no matter how progressive society has become has to go through a lot.I don’t turn a blind eye to the ones who are taking advantage of legal system.But legal system is more partial to female as gender for a reason.
2) I don’t accept that the solution is to make a one sided system till the tide turns away from patriarchy.The solution might be to have laws impartial and favorable to all.Then to create a culture that pushes to make stronger laws for betterment not just for convenience..(dowry is illegal but still followed almost everywhere)For the unmarried people.There are nice girls.Almost 10 times more than the one who will try to take advantage of system.Try to find nice bride.Work on personality to attract better prospects.Dont blindly fall in love/ arranged marriage.Dont get influenced by elders/peers,it’s your life take ownership.
CIt’s a serious conversation and must involve experts.
First of all abusive relationship shall not be tolerated.you need to think of safety of your sister and dogs.Then maybe try a counselor who can make both the parties see the light. If it’s abusive relationship, then involving legal help shall be considered as we don’t know what anybody can do in fit of rage.And better safe then sorry.
