MIf there is a bond then he will have to pay certain amount towards it. If he plans to use that companies experience in the new company then its imp to leave in a proper way or else it can be a hinderance later. Try talking to the company and ask then what he has to pay if has to quit eariler if its reasonable then just pay off.
