MOur country laws are soo muddy that if you are a govt. Support you are safe if you speak against you will be dragged with your head down in that muddy water without giving a chance to breath so you don’t even get a chance.Consider govt. MYou are not liable but if your father left some asset to you or has money in account then before you getting it these liabilities will be deducted.In extreme cases if your father has land in his name and that land would be transferred to you before all that happens bank or debt collector will recover their losses or liabilities by selling the land and you will get the rest of money.
And this land sell will be below market price.

MI suggest you to divide all the asset of your parents and sell take your part and send him his part and advice him not to come to India and get a citizenship of USA if possible if not take citizenship of other country but don’t come to India.MOk first this topic is not for reddit.This is some serious legal thing no one can clearly advice you on this.
