January 30, 2025 at 11:08 pmDo not go for quashing then, You can do quashing for other family members against whom allegations are vague. For yourself, file a discharge petition when chargesheet is filed in lower court, which is 4 years from FIR typically. Please manage the police so that they say no specific concrete evidence against family is found in High court for FIR quashing.SShreyahero590

January 30, 2025 at 5:17 amDo not marry as an NRI to a girl whom your parents do not have mutual contact with her parents.Heard a total of 24 cases of NRIs who are facing issues in 498a and DV bogus claims. Numbers are rising fast.
Do not go ahead at all if there is no mutual connection between families.

January 30, 2025 at 5:06 amPlease marry a girl if your parents know her parents. It will save you a lot of mental and legal hassles in future. I advise not to marry at all if your parents do not know her parents via mutual contacts.Big No No in current environment for NRIs

January 23, 2025 at 1:03 amPlease record conversations with your mutual friends when you discuss this concern with them. Keep with you the recordings in case they turn against you for a slice of money cake your not girlfriend will get from you. Please record conversations with your not so girlfriend and her boyfriend and ask them what they actually need from you if she does not want to be with you. Most likely money will come out in discussion.
Share story along with all recordings by uploading it to a cloud and share with your close family.
Consult your family right away. If you hire a lawyer do not authorize him to talk to girlfriend about this case without you being present else he can get involved and also doom you.
Be careful next time.

January 20, 2025 at 7:33 pmNot true. It depends on the FIR. High court can say file a discharge petition if charge sheet is submitted in lower court.Bad generic advise.
