Just because you’re claiming the value of the shipment is 4k does not mean they are bound to pay it. The shipping document/contract/receipt they give you always states the maximum amount of their liability. Even stuff sent by India Post, the government service, has their maximum liability capped at 2x the shipping fee paid.
In future, for high value shipments, you are recommended to use India Post’s Speed Post with Insurance. There, you are paid back the full declared value in case of loss/damage in transit.
