I do understand the frustration and absolutely, when it comes to women’s rights about their own body, the system is far more broken. But this is a fight for another minute, please do take care of yourself. Hydrate well and focus and yourself first!

Would suggest a private clinic, they are better equipped for these things. Check with a lady gynaec in the city. The reason they say it’s risky at 8 weeks is that if oral methodology does not work, you may have to undergo a DNC which is a small but surgical procedure requiring you to undergo anaesthesia, to ensure that everything inside is cleared out and shouldn’t lead to any complications.

As for legal advice, everyone has already explained they can’t refuse. If it’s in you to fight the good fight, you can document everything and file a compliant.

As for the medical explanation, I’m not a doctor but my cousin is and this was her simplified explanation without getting into too many details

That’s where the buyer will step in. If he really wants to sell, there are ways to have it sorted. If it gets dragged on for too long, you have saved yourself a headache later. That’s just our take on his.

With land deals, we are always prepared for such fallouts, so you take this as part of the process.

Also, nothing to apologise yaa, all of us live and learn, so best to ask and discuss!

Hey, we also work in similar states and this is more of precautionary measure for clear titles. What we do is put a public notice in national and local papers, saying that we are purchasing so and so property, if anyone has an issue, reach out within these many days. Later on, it becomes easier to prove that you took all steps to ensure clear title.

Got it, you can still go ahead with other good suggestions in the thread. Depending on your mood to fight this guy then,

Another question – Was the intention to purchase the property published in any newspaper? If yes, then serve with a legal notice and follow it up with specific performance. That way, that property won’t be purchased by any genuine buyer until your claims are settled. The deal seems to have fallen through only because of the TDS required to be deducted, which should be called out while doing this. This is another way to build the pressure on the person to give back money + expenses to cover the inconvenience, or approximately 2x as mentioned in other comments.

Again, depends on your mood to deal with the legal stuff, cause this will add up the expenses.

I think the family and social scenario has already been screwed up by the BIL. If you want what is rightfully yours, first would be to have a calm discussion and understand his part of the story.

In case he is unapologetic and not planning to make any amends, you already have your answer. You have come here for legal remedy, so you do want what’s yours. What are the options you are looking at ?

                  1. For the amount you paid commensurate land
                  2. Refund of money that you paid over and above your 1/3rd share.

Second option might be easier unless you feel you would like the first option.

Accordingly, always preferable to have family matters sorted with talks first.
But let me tell you, generally they don’t get resolved much with the talking.
There is legal remedies to help since you have paid money through bank
