You have to wait for them to come out of hiding and then file a case against them in court.

India no longer has the zamindar-system where loans taken by one family member gives every member of the family liability. In fact, if you threaten someone’s parents you will likely find yourself in jail for harassing senior citizens.

Because it gives time to the police, judiciary, and lawyers to keep earning bribes.

If they close cases quickly, they don’t get the chance to earn bribes.

It doesn’t matter. The illiterate police will see the word ‘penis’ being said to a woman and file a case.ย

I hope they don’t do it, but the op is right. This is the country where ex Delhi Commission for Women head, Swati Maliwal was chargesheeted for releasing the name of a minor victim. The same Swati Maliwal who filed an FIR against Bhibhav Kumar, Kejriwal’s PA.ย

So a person who has an outstanding FIR, filed a FIR against someone else for battery and other sexual offences.ย

People throw FIRs at eachother as easily and taking a breath.

Only if your last name was Ambani or Adani, you could have bought the car.

If your last name is Ambani or Adani, then everything is legal for you in India.

                ^ this is exactly right.

Don’t let them bully you because at the end of the day, it’s only a job. And you will get another job if you’re good at your job (which I am guessing you are, being an introvert), but it will be harder for you to get self-respect if you give in to their demands.

From the outside, it looks like someone is trying to ruin your reputation. As a man, your reputation is all you have – do not sign the NDA/NRA without talking to a good lawyer (In india, lawyers can and are routinely bribed by the opposing party so make sure your lawyer search is solid – try to get a NLU lawyer reference.)

Tell them to give you time to consult a lawyer, as you do not want to be falsely implicated without any evidence.

Tell us how they react to that demand.

                      hear hear!

unfortunately, I would advise the op to save precious years of her life by simply moving on. As with everything else in the country, following the judicial process in india is as close to being in actual hell as it gets.

Loan documents will need to be reviewed by a lawyer. You definitely don’t have to pay back the loan your dad took from your personal funds – that much we know for sure. But depending on what the loan documents say – his portion of the loan amount could be deducted from the inheritance you will receive from your father. But because there are co-borrowers on the loan – I believe they will be liable for the full 10lacs before the bank even looks at your father’s assets (land, house, etc.)

You are a co-owner. You have the same rights as every other flat-owner in the building. The role of managing the security of the building lies with the management company, not with individual owners.

Recording a co-owner without their express permission and then widely sharing the video without their permission with the intent to defame them is malicious and unlawful.

Most people think that pursuing something like this isn’t worth their time and money because the court system doesn’t have the ability to decide these case expeditiously. But I can tell you with personal experience, people like that don’t have anything better to do with their lives so they like picking fights with folks they consider weaker than themselves. These people hate to be ignored. You should ignore her existence and she will burnout.

This was a private society, private, gated building. Of course there is expectation of privacy otherwise there would be no need to have walls around the building and no need to have a 24 hr security guard at the gate.ย

Unless the person who did the recording specifically posted outside or near her home that she is using CCTV near her house, there is expectation of privacy. The OP doesn’t mention seeing a notice stating the use of cctv cameras.
