I don’t know the legal answer, however, if it’s a small startup with not much funding, I would suggest take unpaid leave with job security guarantee in return. Small startup might not have the fund to pay for non-work benefits, such expenses can be expensive for them. I have seen founders not taking any salary and paying employees from their own savings etc, to fulfill their dream.

If the startup has the funding, then push for the maternity benefits.

Society might not allow them to leave. In my society you have to get approval from owner and society to take stuff out.

Wondering if you took the loan from him and now looking for ways to avoid the repayment by cooking up story that you had first paid in cash. Even if it’s not applicable to you, it’s still a loophole where the other person is screwed even though he has the bank transaction.

I don’t think anything can be done here as Mahindra is not wrong. I understand your loss but if they increase the price after 15 days, will you be willing to pay them the difference for their loss? You won’t pay as your sell is already complete, the same applies vice-versa.
