I think samsung was providing free screen replacement once so if its first time then they should replace it. If its not a physical damage and it happend due to sofware update then they need to replace it

Did you sign any physical document prior to the incident? if yes then they might have mentioned some terms and conditions with * if no then file complain with company as well as consumer court

Actually smart have gps system in built so they can be easily tracked and even they can be locked remotely if it has sim card installed. When you rented bike you should have been logged out or update your bike location right
