April 20, 2025 at 1:23 pmYour have all the right to claim ownership of the house. There is too nuance to explain it here. March 27, 2025 at 6:23 pmUnder the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, “The seller has to take back defective goods and refund the amount within the stipulated time mentioned in the bill/memo or within 30 days.”As they had refunded, and didn’t collect the item, it would have been in their best interest to just take the loss and move on.
But by sending this notice they have given you an opportunity(feel blessed) to file a complaint through Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum/Commission, for the storage charge and mental agony caused to you. Storage charge because they never forfeited the item as they have asked now to return it. Mental agony as you have been threatened(as you have stated). Keep rental charge slightly above reasonable and feel free to demand as much(not unreasonable) as you seem fit for mental agony.

March 24, 2025 at 8:08 amIf she wants to go through legal route, she should file FIR as soon as possible and go for medical examination ASAP. But her mental health is more important than anything, so be with her and support her.Several organizations can provide support to sexual assault survivors:
Durga India (90082 12828) offers trained counselors through their “Take a Step” initiative
Vimochana (080 2549 2781/82/83) assists women subjected to violence with filing complaints and other support
Global Concerns India (98455 18138) educates women about their legal rights
Aweksha (080 4091 3325) provides assistance based on survivors’ individual needs.
Use these resources as need be.
She is also traumatized so prioritize proper therapy sessions so as to give her best chance to process the trauma.

March 20, 2025 at 8:40 amYour uncle’s frustration misunderstands justice systems. Lawyers ensure the state PROVES guilt beyond doubt – remember Vishnu Tiwari’s 20-year wrongful rape conviction? New laws demand forensic evidence because “clear” cases often rely on coerced confessions or sloppy police work.Bail reforms allow denial in heinous crimes with evidence, but imagine your family jailed over false charges. Harsher punishments don’t deter crime – certainty does. India’s 90-day investigation deadlines (2023 reforms) matter more than emotional sentencing demands.
System fixes that need immediate attention :
-Train cops, I think most of you will agree here (80% cases fail from evidence errors)
-21 judges/million people vs China’s 159(cause for insanely long overdue cases at every level)
-Proper victim compensation (only 3% get paid)
Our oath binds us to the Constitution, not mob justice. When bar associations boycotted “immoral” cases, SC reminded them: “Where liberties end, tyranny begins.” Blaming defenders for state failures is like hating doctors for disease. Fix forensic tech and judicial vacancies first.

March 17, 2025 at 7:03 pmYou have a strong case to get refund, here is the recommended approach :First, formally document all communications if not already done(most important step of all, be as thorough as possible)
Send a legal notice citing their refund policy provisions for health/relocation cases(i guess it was the first point on their refund page)
Specifically reference their policy clause regarding scholarship recipients still being eligible for pro-rata refund calculations(it was mentioned somewhere in the middle of refund page, quote that)
If no resolution occurs within 15-30 days of the legal notice, proceed with filing a complaint through the National Consumer Helpline or district consumer forum.

March 16, 2025 at 5:26 pmI really want to help you but then something tells me, this gold is somehow not legal. And this, this very thought is stopping me from providing you ways to get it back.Consider this, anyway you are anonymous here on reddit, come clean with the real story behind it, and then ask for how you can get it back.
But if not, feel free not to tell the reality of it and maybe, just maybe someone might help in this forum. Atleast until now, I have not seen any reply which is telling the correct procedure for it(but it is not their fault too, problem is that you want to get an answer without telling the correct facts of the matter, and as the saying goes, if you lie to lawyer who you want to get help from, you are doomed to fail from the start).

March 16, 2025 at 3:25 pmIf it was mortgaged then you or your family member must be knowing who mortgaged that. Get them to give a written affidavit that they had mortgaged that to your family. And on basis of it goto police and file a complaint about it.70 lakh is not a small sum, promise them 5 to 10 % of recovered gold, every one of them will give you written affidavit if, if, if those transactions were done with no other nefarious motives.

March 16, 2025 at 11:43 amHas anyone heard the Hindi कहावत – चोरी का धन, मोरी मे जाता है 😅Whoever stole that gold, just stole specific things and not all gold, which clearly shows, thief knew that, what could not be reported owing to the fact that even if recovered they cannot prove their ownership.
2000 is not a generational time, and they were gold biscuits, and if gotten through legal means, every jeweller keeps record of every purchase and sale, especially this big sale. And in earlier times like before 2000, they even acted as local loan men, so they had/have habit of keeping meticulous records. Go and get those record from them. And if that was illegal gold, let it go, it was never yours to begin with.

March 10, 2025 at 7:08 amThis requires urgent intervention from authorities. While your mother’s reluctance is understandable, the law permits you (as affected family) to initiate proceedings independently. A combined approach using civil protections and criminal complaints would be most effective. But before advising you how to go forward with you. Please tell your age and what did you mean by house was supposed to be inherited by her and her sister. Who was the previous owner of the house, and who all were the children of the original owner, who you named in reply to my previous question.

March 8, 2025 at 8:51 amHere you had the right to record, as far as I can understand, as it was publically accessable area and you recorded in self defence and for evidentiary purpose. Intent matters in legal cases. And anything pasted on walls without any under signing by an authority are just requests and not law or legal guidelines.March 8, 2025 at 8:48 am in reply to: Bank of Baroda Misconduct Exposed – Wrongfully Detained by Police #39717SSmartarushi4657

March 8, 2025 at 8:48 amActually it is not usually. Publically accessable area can be recorded if it is in self defence or for evidentiary purpose but illegal if done for malicious purpose or ill intent. It is decided on case by case basis. Intent is the keyword here.
