February 25, 2025 at 2:22 pmThe transaction was not completed, and your money was returned promptly, which shows that perhaps there really was some issue.
The seller, being a genuine person, has returned your money, whereas, in practical life, OLX is known for scams where people routinely lose money (all this taking Aadhar and such does not mean much practically) and mental peace.Count yourself lucky and move on.
Do not complicate this.February 23, 2025 at 2:17 pm in reply to: Drunk and drive challan/police notice long term effects? #48417IIndianshivansh3984

February 22, 2025 at 11:18 amIf the roles were reversed, the guy and his family could have faced stricter action.Op topic:
1. Saying no to a prospective marriage offer, especially in such a timely fashion, is not a crime. The girl and her family are essentially on a power trip.
2. De-escalate but also keep records of all communications.
3. They may try to implicate you in false cases of DPA and S69 BNS. If that happens, all you can do is defend yourself. But you have not done anything wrong or criminal here. Not all women are like this; this is just plain bad luck. However, we can all learn something from this.

2. If that fails, file a case u/ S138 N.I. Act.

February 20, 2025 at 1:21 pmAccording to the Limitations Act 1963, the life of a DPN is 36 months, after which the bank loses legal recourse in case of default. The bank might still pursue the matter, but it becomes needlessly complicated.
So, banks ask for revival letters to keep the DPN active as security.1. Yes, both the borrower and the guarantor need to sign.
2. Yes, you need to affix a stamp on it.
3. The value of the stamp depends on the loan amountFebruary 20, 2025 at 11:17 am in reply to: Does your wife become beneficiary of your parent’s self acquired property in India? #50946IIndianshivansh3984

February 20, 2025 at 7:29 amIf there is an understanding from the beginning or if it is achieved later, people opt for a mutual divorce with the SOP of MoU, in which both parties (mainly this is for the wife) state that all disputes are settled and any pending cases are/will be withdrawn. If you were to sign the divorce papers first without dropping the criminal charges, the wife’s side would get a free hand to harass you and extort more money out of you.

February 19, 2025 at 2:21 pmYour title would be defective and uncertain, and might even be challenged later by A, B, C, or their heirs.
You may also face issues selling or mortgaging the property. It would be unwise to buy this property as it is, without addressing the appropriate issues.

February 18, 2025 at 8:26 amImagine the opposite scenario: if someone had behaved the same way with your mother or sister and then rationalised that they at least did not touch them or their property, but just called them bad words, would you be satisfied and not feel offended? There are specific sections governing this, as every being deserves the dignity of life—more so women, due to societal constraints.

February 17, 2025 at 2:57 pmSo, a routine challan u/ S185 MVA.
The traffic police order does not mention the DL suspension period (usually, there is a 3-6 month suspension)? You can confirm with the Bengaluru Traffic Police about the physical copy or if all details would be sent to the RTO (usually they are, but it doesn’t hurt to check).
UP14 RTO will have their own formalities, and proof of challan payment is important, so make sure to keep it safe.—
Disclosure is the main concern regarding this conviction, which would be classified as a petty offence but could hamper relevant jobs (I have seen issues with pilot licences and government jobs in railways or transport).
Visa applications are the same, and it depends highly on the discretion of the visa officer, especially in the case of Canada (which may cause higher surety). The USA visa might also require an extra interview and stricter scrutiny.

February 17, 2025 at 2:40 pmIt is not a serious matter; most likely, nothing will happen here.
At the same time, learn to keep your anger and tongue in check, especially when dealing with women.
This time, maybe the complaint wasn’t registered, but if it had been, the criminal justice system could latch on to you. Even if acquitted, the process itself is punishment enough. Here, you were actually liable u/ S79, S352, S296 BNS — a mix of cognizable and potentially arrest-worthy charges, with up to a maximum of 3 years’ imprisonment and a ₹1K fine, or both.
(During this duration, most job opportunities would likely have eluded you, assuming you were eventually acquitted.)On the other hand, the woman would have faced, if anything at all, a simple charge u/ S292 BNS, which at most carries a ₹1K penalty — a charge that is rarely enforced on women.
