April 4, 2025 at 7:02 pmSamsung had a policy to provide a “one-time” free screen replacement, under which a device like the S21 FE 5G (my device) was covered. I see no reason why your S23, a device which is much more recent, would not be covered.Barring any physical or water damage, you would have had to pay about ₹550.
The service centres do try to rip the customer off by quoting policy nonsense. They quoted ₹13,000 for my device, and only when I told them I knew about this policy and had confirmed with customer care, did they get ready to accept my device. Also, it does not matter if your device is 1.5 years old; the policy covers devices up to 3 years.

April 1, 2025 at 9:42 amAs per legal principles, even if the sister does not wish to contest the will, she is still considered a legal heir and has a stake in the property.
In such proceedings, notices are sent to all legal heirs to inform them of the proceedings. This is done in accordance with the principles of natural justice, ensuring that all parties with a potential interest in the property are given an opportunity to respond.IIndianshivansh3984

March 29, 2025 at 10:31 am1. As far as I know, Simpl does not report to credit bureaus, but they have had a major overhaul, so their behaviour has changed; they have become much more aggressive.2. The only option they have is to file a civil suit for recovery, and for an amount so small, it does not make much sense.
3. Depending on the documents you have provided them, they may continue to contact you, and they might also send a field agent to your mentioned address.
4. There have been instances of them mining user data for image-disparaging tactics, but they appear to have stopped now.
5. I would advise you to save up money and negotiate the TPAs or OCCEs for the removal of penal charges.

March 27, 2025 at 7:11 amDepends:1. If the property in question is ancestral, the grandson may have a claim u/ S6 HSA1956.
If the property is indeed ancestral, the partition could be contested u/ S34 SRA1963.2. If the property was self-acquired by the deceased grandfather and later partitioned among the legal heirs, in that case, the grandson may not have any direct right unless the father decides to gift or bequeath a portion of it himself.
3. The wife of a husband who is alive may not have any direct claim to title; she may have one u/ S15 HSA1956 after the husband’s death.
She may, however, claim the right to residence under the D.V Act.

March 27, 2025 at 6:50 amNo, the law does not recognise this.
What you did was done of your own volition. In the case of intestacy, the assets will be distributed equally.March 25, 2025 at 7:07 am in reply to: Samsung Updates Killed My S22 Plus – They Lied & Are Refusing to Repair | Legal Advice Needed #29237IIndianshivansh3984

March 25, 2025 at 7:07 amI have a similar issue. I bought an S21 FE 5G device in January 2023 and had no issues with it until January 2025, when a white line appeared on my display out of nowhere after a software update. I contacted the official service centre, and they quoted ₹13,000 for repairs, as my device was long past its warranty.
Only when I contacted Samsung’s toll-free number did they inform me that Samsung is covering this issue, under the following conditions:
1. Device must be first-owned.
2. The purchase date should be less than 3 years ago.
3. The device should not be any physical/water damaged on the device.
4. This offer is only valid until 31-03-2025.I was told that I only had to pay labour charges of approximately ₹1200. This is less than 10% of the original quote, so I agreed and submitted my device. It was supposed to take 4 days for the repair.
However, there was some issue with the bill (I ordered through Amazon), and the service centre refused to honour Samsung’s commitment.Solution used:
1. I lodged a complaint against Samsung with NCH. As of yesterday, I received Samsung’s official confirmation that:
a. They will honour the commitment regardless of any billing issue.
b. The charge will be approximately ₹500, and it will take one day for the repair.
c. I can get this repaired well beyond the aforementioned date of 31-03-2025.I have not taken Samsung up on this offer, as due to the billing issues, I have Amazon’s official confirmation that they will either provide me with a brand-new device or refund my money.

March 21, 2025 at 7:23 amSimpl does not lend to you based on your CIBIL score; supposedly, they have their own method of checking a user’s creditworthiness. Their contact point was the mobile number, which, if you were a minor, could not have been issued in your name. The Simpl loan amount would belong to the owner of the number.
Unless provided, they would not have access to your PAN, so your CIBIL would not be damaged.Further:
1. Even if the amount was ₹40K, there cannot be an FIR as this is a civil matter.
2. It is possible that after three years of penalties, the amount has ballooned up to thousands, and the case has been forwarded to TPAs, who are just trying to scare you into paying them something.
3. Even in the worst case, if they do go to the courts (which they will not), they will be asked to remove all the penal charges.IIndianshivansh3984

March 21, 2025 at 7:04 amAlthough policing has improved a lot, it is still almost guaranteed that if you are in a lockup, you will be abused both verbally and physically. Police need a generation of well-trained officers to undo the rot that is present.
You have asked about the accused in lockup; sadly, it is not uncommon for even the complainant to be roughed up in multiple cases, especially in poorer neighbourhoods or tier-3 cities.I will give you some examples:
1. I was approached by a 20-something-year-old girl who was getting multiple calls and texts. She kind of knew it was her ex, and being the educated girl she was, she decided to complain to the police.
The girl was morally policed on the call, and the police threatened that they would come to her place if she continued to report this. Only when I intervened and involved a higher police authority did any action get taken.2. In my locality, a guy’s home was attacked by stones. The guy went to complain about this, as he kind of knew the offender. The police again morally policed him, asking why he required police for such small matters. They questioned if he wasn’t man enough to handle it on his own. When he made the mistake of telling them “law and order” was their duty, they slapped him.

March 21, 2025 at 6:45 amAlthough there are provisions for extracting legal expenses from the offender, to stop the misuse.
They are exercised judiciously. Otherwise, for the prettiest matter, a supposed “victim” could hire the costliest advocate and put that cost on the “accused,” turning it into a harassment/extortion racket. They can cite any charge, but it does not mean they can actually stand to take that from you.

March 21, 2025 at 6:38 amYou must have sent it via Indian Post, right?
If the address is correct, it could still be deemed serviced, and you could file u/ S138.Yes, you need a lawyer. Did you not use an advocate for the legal notice?
In S138, the legal notice is a fundamental step. It is not wise to cheap out on this, otherwise, it could get costly later.IIndianshivansh3984

March 21, 2025 at 6:21 amThere are multiple factors, like:1. Opportunity cost – I have no way of knowing that you will hire me. You could just be there to get “some info” or get demoralised by the suggested timeline and expenses of filing a case; it happens.
But while I am talking to you, potentially, I lose another client because he saw me occupied with you.2. Entirety of the law is available in the public domain; you can Google them up, yes.
But it does not mean that they are any less useful and will not be shared in a consultation.3. Text and practised laws are two different things. Anyone who is not a legal professional would not understand.
So It is not about how much I talked, it is about how much experience and knowledge I bring to the table.
