So sorry for your loss!Get the copy of the FIR and force them to issue a Death Certificate, despite foul play, the death certificate has to be prepared. If they are not giving you can apply it online.
Once you get the DC, get a legal heir certificate through the online process and then file for succession certificate.
Once you have these use this certificate to get hold of his bank accounts, FDs, Insurance Covers if any and also properties in his share.
