In order for you to make a case for your loss, you need to prove that when you were buying the car you informed Mahindra that you intend to resell it in the open market for a good price. Then Mahindra advises you that yes your car can go for a good 10 lakhs as a resale value. Then Mahindra lowers its prices. In that case you can say that Mahindra at all times knew that you wanted to resell the car and it lowered it prices, which led to you not getting that 10lakh price but instead you got 8 lakhs. Only in that case will the damages that you seek not be remote.
Also, your losses at this point are “notional losses”. You have not actually suffered any loss or damage.
