April 10, 2025 at 10:40 amIf you need employers are okay with no wanting the exit papers then you don’t have to fret about it.Also, they won’t take any actions as their case isn’t strong plus companies don’t initiate such actions as it’s time consuming and seldom results in any positive action.
Speaking from my experience as a in house counsel.

You are obligated to serve notice period.
But does it have to be from India or could be remote depends on your employment agreement and company policy.

Since you have already put down your paper it won’t matter much..
You will get your exit papers in due time.
Just stay firm and refuse to shift. Be available virtually if need be.

April 9, 2025 at 12:20 pmOne way is to actually go to the courts where your matter will be heard and see which lawyer does the judge listen to.You can easily from body language filter out the bad or less professional lawyers.
This is not a foolproof method but a decent start.
You could also speak to the court clerk and ask them if they can recommend someone.
After all it’s all about who the lawyer knows in India.

What you could do is ask the landlord to share a normal bank account.
Not NRO or NRE account.
And ensure the adress on the agreement is a domestic one.
