        If you do plan to leave, then all you should do is write a letter to the station incharge of your local police station stating that you (name), formerly living at (address) are major and are leaving on your own free will, and that the same may be taken not of, and that no galat complaints relating to you missing may be entertained. Sign it with a self-attested copy of your ID card and submit it before leaving.
        Do keep all your original papers with you before you leave.

          Giving a lump sum alimony may be better if you have such concerns.

            World advise you to keep your posts here anonymous.
            Complaints to the Bar Council are taken on record and though the proceedings may be lengthy you are likely to get a major chunk of your money back.
            As for selecting good lawyers, check with family or friends for acquaintances/batchmates (preferred).
            Hope things turn out better for you.

              You have the benefit of doubt.
              Understand that law, and most other subjects you will be studying will have some logic behind them.
              Think of it like that, and a lot of things will become self-evident.

                Getting a copy of the diary won’t be easy.
                If the police do call you, record your statement and stay calm throughout the process.
                The police rarely take action based on such complaints.

                    First and foremost file a complaint with the Police, a detailed complaint with the details of invested amounts.
                    In due course, the government is likely to return the amounts in a phase-wise manner or work out a solution for investors who may have been swindled.
                    Consult others in a similar scenario (same company), you will be able to get a lot of insight.

                      Start by sending a legal notice, and do take the opinion of a civil engineer to back you up.
                      You can file a suit for an injunction against the builder on the ground that the demolition is harming your property, press for a stay so that all work can be stalled.
                      In the end, for any actual damage you can seek compensation and costs of the repairs.

                        Contact them informally, and if you don’t get a satisfactory answer then proceed legally.

                          Check the case status, generally there would be some outcome.

                            Quite a few reforms are needed, but the points that do come to mind immediately are:

                            1. Personal appearance should be exempt for all parties/they should be permitted to appear through video conference in such cases – would save a lot of travelling and headaches;

                            2. The Family Courts Act, Hindu Marriage Act, Indian Divorce laws in general as it is, needs to be amended. The scope of court intervention in such cases like referring parties for mediation etc. needs to be curtailed and the grounds for separation and divorce need to be widened to include no-fault divorce – I am of the opinion that such provisions are an insult to the intelligence of adults in matrimony, if they want to separate, then let it be so;

                            3. Criminal procedure for such cases needs to be differentiated, and a standard operating procedure needs to be put in place – not everyone needs to be hauled to a police station in these cases;

                            Each point here could spawn research papers, but I think these should definitely help.

                              A lot of laws, including matrimonial laws, are in urgent need of reform.

                                A lot of variables here, however this is highly unfortunate.

                                Read the judgment carefully, and go in Appeal (with a better lawyer). You aren’t liable to pay for your father, and if required you have quite a few alternatives to resist paying the amount; including filing a complaint against your lawyer.

                                Best wishes to you.
